You are bidding on an EXCELLENT late-war relic example of a WW2 German Luftwaffe Kuhlstoff (Coolant) Tank Cap, 8-4534 A, as used on many German Aircraft such as the Me109, Fw190, Me262, Ju88, Me-110, Ju87, and others! As this was came from a large collection of Junkers items, it is most likely for a Ju87 or Ju88.
This cap locked and sealed the main Coolant Tanks of the aircraft. This version is the later style being VENTED on the top.
Made of aluminum, this specific item was used on various fighters and bombers, and is in FANTASTIC condition for its age. There is some very slight dirt, scratches, and damage however it still retains most of it’s original colour and finish! Normally marked, “Kraftstoff”, this one is simply marked “Stoff” at the bottom. The traces of blue/green paint at the top indicate that this was specific to the coolant system. I have indicated its location in the last photo. Would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection, display or restoration project!
