Description

You are bidding on a SUPERB WW2 German Wehrmacht Vet Pick-Up K98 Bayonet!  Being a tropical variant, it comes complete with the original frog and scabbard!

Made of bakelite and steel, this German K98 Bayonet is in EXCELLENT condition for it’s.  Made in 1942 by JWH, there are some slight marks due to the age, but otherwise is in VERY NICE condition!  There is a tiny bit of marks and wear due to the age, but very solid otherwise.  Blade as never been sharpened!  The scabbard is original to this knife, but it too features some marks and wear.  Note that this is a FACTORY mis-match, and not something that was swapped out post-war.  It also features a VERY INTERESTING extra long fuller, that required stamping of the serial numbers to be placed in the corner (something I have NEVER seen before)!  The knife features dark bakelite grips, and is marked:

It also features a few Waffenamts.

The scabbard is original to this knife, and is a factory mis-match.  Condition matches that of the knife, with some minor marks and scratches due to the age.  It is also marked:

The Tropical Canvas Frog is original to this bayonet, and like the knife, features marks, wear, and stains.  Has the larger length retaining strap,  The VERY interesting feature on the frog, is that it has the addition of a clip to attach to an America GI Belt!  This was 100% captured by a US Serviceman, and used in the field during WW2 by this serviceman!  Would make a SUPERB addition to any collection or display!

——————- ABOUT ME —————–

Although my passion is the Me109, I do offer many other German Aircraft (Fw190, Me262, etc.), as well as USAF and Japanese items. Occasionally I do offer many non-vintage items such as prints and art relating to the time period. As a private collector myself, I am constantly on the lookout for historical memorabilia, authentic photographs, artwork or anything unique relating to military aircraft.
