You are bidding on a VERY NICE used example of a 100% ORIGINAL WW2 German ELITE Oak Leaf Pattern “A” Camouflaged Zeltbahn (Poncho/Shelter Quarter)!

In late 1936 the first Elite camouflage garments were issued for field testing and evaluation, the first being the Shelter Quarters/Ponchos.  As the war continued various other clothing items were produced in the assorted camouflage patterns.
As the war progressed, in 1941 new camouflage patterns and manufacturing techniques (including the machine roller printed, Oak-leaf “A” pattern camouflage) were utilized through to 1945. The M31 Zeltbahn was a standard issue item and came accompanied with tenting accessories that consisted of the M1892 tent rope, the 3-piece M1901 breakdown tent pole, and two M1929 tent pegs enabling the individual to utilize his Quarter shelter with others to form a tent.

Made of water-proofed cotton/rayon, this reversible Zeltbahn is in SUPERB used condition!  It features the rare Oakleaf “A” pattern camouflage, that consists of shades of tans, green, and brown.  Near mint condition, with bright colors throughout.  Some slight wear and snags here and there (also one field repair), but otherwise SUPERB!  A couple aluminum buttons are missing, but those are an easy fix/replacement.  Would make a SUPERB addition to any collection or display!

——————- ABOUT ME —————–

Although my passion is the Me109, I do offer many other German Aircraft (Fw190, Me262, etc.), as well as USAF and Japanese items. Occasionally I do offer many non-vintage items such as prints and art relating to the time period. As a private collector myself, I am constantly on the lookout for historical memorabilia, authentic photographs, artwork or anything unique relating to military aircraft.
