Description

You are bidding on a SUPERB and 100% original WW2 German Wehrmacht grouping consisting of an autographed image of General Johannes Albrecht Blaskowitz, as well as two original photos (one depicting General. Erwin von Witzleben)!  Unlike most of the autographs you see, this is a WARTIME signed photo (not post-war).

Johannes Albrecht Blaskowitz (10 July 1883 – 5 February 1948) was a German general during World War II and recipient of the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords.

Blaskowitz led the 8th Army during the Invasion of Poland and was the Commander in Chief of Occupied Poland from 1939 to 1940; he had written several memoranda for the German High Command protesting the atrocities.  e was dismissed, but then re-appointed. He commanded Army Group G during the Allied invasion of Southern France and Operation Nordwind, the last major German offensive of World War II on the Western Front.

After the war, he was charged with war crimes in the High Command Trial at Nuremberg. While in custody facing trial he died on 5 February 1948, purportedly of suicide. He was posthumously acquitted on all counts.

Made of paper, this photo is in EXCELLENT condition!  Featuring a photographic image of Johannes Friessner, it is signed in ink at the bottom, and is dated June 6, 1942.  Also included are two 3.5″ x 5″ candid photographs , one of them featuring General Erwin von Witzleben.   Some marks, wear, and creases due to the age, but nothing that detracts.  100% original, it would look EXCELLENT framed!  A PERFECT addition to any collection or display!

As a private collector myself, I am constantly on the lookout for historical memorabilia, authentic photographs, artwork or anything unique relating to military aircraft.
