The 5cm KwK 38 L/42 (5 cm Kampfwagenkanone 38 L/42) was a German 5 cm calibre cannon used as the main armament of variants of the German SdKfz.141 Panzerkampfwagen III medium tank during the Second World War.
The 5 cm KwK 39 L/60 (5 cm Kampfwagenkanone 39 L/60) was a German 5 cm calibre gun used as the main armament of later models of the German Panzerkampfwagen III tank from 1941 onwards.
Both versions were adopted for Coastal Defense and Bunker Emplacements.
Made of steel by Oculus, Berlin, this aiming scope was manufactured between 1942 and 1944. It retains 95% of its original finish, and is 100% COMPLETE, including the RARE (and often missing) eye shield/eye cup! Also still retains the original mount and optical light fixture. The manufacture code and data information is stamped into the top, indicating:
All optics are SUPERB with MINIMAL signs of spotting! Though this type of scope was commonly used on FlaK and Anti-Tank guns, this specific type was designed SPECIFICALLY for use on the 5cm KwK for Coastal Defense (identifiable by the type of reticle). I have shown it installed on the 5cm KwK 38 in the last images. A VERY RARE scope to obtain, it would make a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!

——————- ABOUT ME —————–
Although my passion is the Me109, I do offer many other German Aircraft (Fw190, Me262, etc.), as well as USAF and Japanese items. Occasionally I do offer many non-vintage items such as prints and art relating to the time period. As a private collector myself, I am constantly on the lookout for historical memorabilia, authentic photographs, artwork or anything unique relating to military aircraft.
