Description
You are bidding on a VERY RARE example of a WW2 German Wehrmacht 6×30 BROWN Bakelite Binocular Case!
The German Army and Navy used a wide variety of optical equipment, including a 6×30 (6 power magnification with 30mm objective lens), 7×50, 8×30, 10×50 and others, being the standard issued optics used by all branches of service. Though this type was the standard, specialized personnel required stinger optics, and were issued to personnel on a limited basis.Made of brown bakelite (most likely by Gustav Genschow u. Co., AG, Lederwarenfabriken, Alstadt-Hachenburg), this 6×30 power binocular case is in VERY NICE used condition! Retains all the original finish, with some slight marks and scratches due to the age. NO cracks or damage! Various manufacture markings throughout, as well as a WaA Stamp on the leather strap at the reverse. Dating around 1944, this is RARE mid/late-war color that you rarely find! Comes complete with the original leather straps on the side, however the leather is dry, so I would suggest re-conditioning them before use. Would make a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!
