Description
First issued in the fall, the Winter Fur Caps (Pelzmutzen) were a standard issue item, and were distributed to all EM/NCO’s for the winter season. As the season changed, winter issued clothing were to be returned to the various storage depots, until their reissued in the following September. Although there was no official standard model of the fur cap, the most commonly encountered type followed the basic pattern of the Mountain and M43 caps with fold down back and side panels designed to protect the wearers ears and neck.
Made of rabbit fur and dark grey wool, this German Army Winter Fur Hat, is in AMAZING used condition! It features back and side panels that secure around the wearer’s neck and chin. This was so that the wearer was fully protected from the harsh air and wind. Inside features a Rayon liner with the ORIGINAL RBn. number stamp, and a size 56! A zinc Adler is tied to the front. In NEAR PERFECT condition, it would make an EXCELLENT addition to any collection or display!
