Description
The German military used a wide variety of optical equipment. The Em.4m R. (H) – Entfernungsmesser 4 m Raumbild (Hochenmesser) 34 – was a standard 4 m-class rangefinder of heavy antiaircraft batteries. It could be used as free standing on a tripod base (in co-operation with the Kdo.Hi.Ger. 35) or coupled directly with the Kdo.Ger. 36 or Kdo.Ger. 40. The Em 4 m R (H) 34 were manned by 4 men (3 aimers and a commander) and could measure ranges from 620 m (670 m in case of the model 34) to 50 000 m, as well as target’s altitude. It features variousprisms, mirrors, and beam splitters which split the magnified image. Once the split image is brought into one focused image the distance is known. Made of a brass, aluminum, and steel, this 10×45 Monocular is in EXCELLENT used condition! It retains approx. 90% of it’s original Dunkelgelb paint and finish, and all knobs function smoothly and correctly! The optics are EXTREMELY clear, with NO spotting, and the focus adjust functions 100% correctly! Has 4 filters that can be adjusted via the upper knob, giving the user the ability to use various shades/darkness of grey (depending on light conditions). The body still retains an original data label indicating,
Carl Zeiss
Also has a mounting plate on the bottom. One of the few I have seen, I have indicated the exact type in the first image, as well as some photos of the larger version (all have the binocular mounted, as opposed to the single monocular, however). Would make a SUPERB addition to any collection or display! |
