Description
This is the 1st model type of the navigation computer, produced in 1940. Pilots and flight personnel used this device to accurately plot the flight bath to their destination. It would aid in the calculation of time, speed, distance, airspeed, pressures, densities and temperature.
Made of plastic and metal, this Windrechner is in EXCELLENT condition for it’s age. It is 100% complete, and indicates the Fl. 23001. The DR2 that is included shows a manufacture date of August 1941. There is no damage or corrosion, and it is 100% functional! The frosted panel on the reverse allowed the pilot to write in pencil, and then easily erase afterwards. The adjustment knobs move forward or backwards rotating the grid in either direction (though it does slip every once in a while. Some marks, wear, and scratches due to the age. Would make a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!
