WW II German Aircraft Verstellgetriebe – VDM PROP PITCH HOUSING – Me109 E-7 RARE

Description

You are bidding on a SUPERB and VERY RARE example of a WW2 German Luftwaffe Verstellgetriebe (Propeller Pitch Housing), as ONLY used on the DB601 engine!  Recovered from a Me109 E7 that was lost over the Eastern Front,  I will provide the full loss history to the winning bidder.

A supercharger is an air compressor used for forced induction of an internal combustion engine. The greater mass flow-rate provides more oxygen to support combustion than would be available in a naturally-aspirated engine, which allows more fuel to be provided and more work to be done per cycle, increasing the power output of the engine.  A supercharger can be powered mechanically by a belt, gear, shaft, or chain connected to the engine’s crankshaft. It can also be powered by an exhaust gas turbine.

Made of magnesium, aluminum, and steel, this is an AMAZING piece of history!  Originating from the front of a Mercedes-Benz DB601 Aircraft Engine, and all features are SUPERB!  Some obvious damage, marks, cracks, and wear…but EASILY the best one I have seen of its type!  Still retains traces of the original finish, as well as the original oil/grease!  Part number is clearly legible.  Would make for a FANTASTIC wall hanging to display your DB601 Engine Badge!  An EXCELLENT addition to any collection or display!

——————- TERMS OF SALE —————–

Most of my items are vintage, and as such are AS-IS, so you must therefore expect a degree of wear due to age and/or usage. All sales are final, so please make sure your questions are answered to your satisfaction before you purchase.

——————- ABOUT ME —————–

Although my passion is the Me109, I do offer many other German Aircraft (Fw190, Me262, etc.), as well as USAF and Japanese items. Occasionally I do offer many non-vintage items such as prints and art relating to the time period. As a private collector myself, I am constantly on the lookout for historical memorabilia, authentic photographs, artwork or anything unique relating to military aircraft.
