WW II German Aircraft Variometer – VERTICAL SPEED INDICATOR – Me163 – VERY RARE!

1 in stock

You are bidding on an EXTREMELY RARE example of a WW2 German Luftwaffe +150/-150 m/s Variometer (Climb/Decent Gauge), Fl.22385, as used ONLY in the Me163 Rocket Fighter!

This instrument measured the vertical speed climb/decent using the surrounding air pressure.  It was located on the main instrument panel of many German aircraft.

Made of brown bakelite, this is instrument is in VERY NICE used condition!  It was manufactured between 1944 and 1945, and features no damage or corrosion!  Sadly, the data label is no longer present.  Some paint is peeling on the dial, due to the age, but it does not detract.  As this was once mounted on a display board, there is some rubberized glue on the reverse (this can be removed).  The needle currently sits at center, but would need an overhaul, as it does not float as it should.  I have indicated it’s location in the last photo.  An EXCEEDINGLY RARE instrument, it would make a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!

Please email me if you need additional photos or information.

——————– ABOUT ME —————–

Although my passion is the Me109, I do offer many other German Aircraft (Fw190, Me262, etc.), as well as USAF and Japanese items. Occasionally I do offer many non-vintage items such as prints and art relating to the time period. As a private collector myself, I am constantly on the lookout for historical memorabilia, authentic photographs, artwork or anything unique relating to military aircraft.
