Description
You are bidding on a STUNNING and VERY RARE example of a WW2 German Luftwaffe KG13 B Control Stick Grip! Though this type of grip was used in the Fw190, Me109, Me410, and Me262, this specific example was removed from a Fw190 by US Serviceman during the war! The KG13 B was mounted directly between the pilots legs, and gave him control of the aircraft, weapons (MG, Cannon, Bombs, and Radio). Most aircraft control grips after WW2 were based on this German design. Made of steel, aluminum, and bakelite, this grip would have been manufactured between 1943 and 1945. Removed from a wrecked Fw190 at the end of the war, it has some slight marks and wear, but is otherwise VERY solid! Spring trigger works perfectly, as do all buttons (though one is a bit sticky)! The Data Label under the terminal box cover is intact (clearly indicating KG13 B). Also features a clear data plate at the rear. All wiring is intact, and it features a “V60” electrical code painted onto the side, clearly identifying this as originating from a Fw190 Fighter (all codes were specific to each aircraft). I have shown its location in the last photos. A VERY RARE example, it would make a SUPERB addition to any collection, display, or restoration project! |
