WW II German Aircraft – STARTER CRANK HANDLE #1 – DB605 – Me109 – RARE!

Out of stock

You are bidding on a VERY RARE example of a WW2 German Luftwaffe DB605 Starter Crank Handle, as used only on the Me109 E-K!

This crank handle was used by the airfield crew to help prime the DB605 engine.  After about 30 seconds of cranking the starter, the pilot would then use the starter handle in the cockpit to fire up the engines.

Made aluminum, bakelite, and steel, this starter crank handle is a SUPERB used example.  Though there are some marks and wear, there is NO major corrosion or damage!  Interesting variant, having bakelite grips, as opposed to aluminum…so probably late-war.  Crank handles are VERY hard to find in this condition, and I have shown its location in the last photo.  Would be a PERFECT addition to any collection, or simply as a conversation piece!

Please email me if you need additional photos or information.

——————- ABOUT ME —————–

Although my passion is the Me109, I do offer many other German Aircraft (Fw190, Me262, etc.), as well as USAF and Japanese items. Occasionally I do offer many non-vintage items such as prints and art relating to the time period. As a private collector myself, I am constantly on the lookout for historical memorabilia, authentic photographs, artwork or anything unique relating to military aircraft.
