This later style of spent casing catcher was manufactured around 1943-1945, and was used until the end of the war.
Made of Ersatz Leather and Steel, this item is in EXCELLENT used condition! The leather is still very soft, and all steel fittings are functional, with minimal corrosion. Zipper moves freely. There are 3 holes (two on top, small one on the bottom), but no major damage! Upper section features a prominent part number, indicating, Fl. 45717…as well as a manufacture code/date of 1942 and BA Inspection stamp. Zipper is made by Rapid. Though complete, it is missing a locking clip on the side (one could possibly make a new one). One of the NICEST I have seen of its type, I have indicated it’s location in the last photos. Would be a PERFECT item to restore or simply for display! |
