Description
You are bidding on a SUPERB and VERY RARE example of a 100% ORIGINAL WW2 German Luftwaffe Schalthebelkasten für Vorflügelverstellung und Landeklappenverstellung (Switch Box for Landing Flaps and Slats), as ONLY used in the Ar96, Ar199, and Ar396 series aircraft!
This control box was located on the left lower instrument panel. It controlled the activation of the Landing Flaps and Wing Slats.
The Arado Ar 96 was a German single-engine, low-wing monoplane of all-metal construction produced by Arado Flugzeugwerke. It was the Luftwaffe’s standard advanced trainer during World War II.Shadow production was undertaken by Letov and the Avia factory in occupied Czechoslovakia, where manufacturing continued for some years after the war, being designated the C-2. A wooden version known as the Ar 396 was built in France and was designated the SIPA S.11. Further developments were the SIPA 111 (armed version), and the SIPA S-12, a metal version; 58 Machines were produced until 1958. The S.11 was operated with some success in Algeria carrying machine guns, rockets and light bombs.
Around 2800 Ar96 variants were produced, and only TWO example remain to this day.
Made of aluminum, bakelite, and steel, this switch box is an EXCELLENT piece, and never found on the market. As it is in USED condition, there are some slight marks and wear, but nothing that detracts. All the paint and markings are 100% ORIGINAL, as are the data labels.is all the wiring. They made around 2800 Ar96 in total, and only one COMPLETE example remains. This is the ONLY known example of this switch known to survive outside the complete aircraft in the German museum, making this EXCEEDINGLY RARE! I have indicated it’s location in the last photo. A VERY hard to find item this would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection or display!Powered by SixBit’s eCommerce Solution
