Description
You are bidding on an AMAZING relic example of a 100% ORIGINAL Revi 16B Rubber Gunsight Shockmount, as ONLY used on the Me109 G thru K fighter aircraft! The Revi 16B was manufactured around 1942-1945, and was used until the end of the war. This Gunsight entered production to replace the outdated Revi C12/D, and was designed with the Spitfire in mind. The aiming reticle was made in such as way that a Spitfire would fit the aiming circle from edge to edge at 300m, and each increment marking represented 6 mils. This was the main sight the pilot or gunner used when sighting targets (aircraft or ground).
Made of rubber, this is a PERFECT relic example. It is still very solid, but does show some slight signs of wear, bends and slight cracking due to the age. This section of rubber mounted in between the gunsight mount and the wood panel (see last photo). Would make an EXCELLENT addition to any collection, display, or restoration project! Please email me if you need additional photos or information.
