WW II German Aircraft Kabinenabwurfhebel – CANOPY RELEASE LEVER – Me262 – RARE!

You are bidding on a SUPERB and VERY RARE example of a 100% ORIGINAL WW2 German Luftwaffe “Kabinenabwurfhebel” (Canopy Release Handle), 262.113-005.013, as used ONLY on the Me262 A-1 Turbo Jet fighter aircraft!

This handle was located on the starboard side of the Me262  Cockpit.  It acted as the emergency canopy release, in-case the pilot had to bail out during combat, and was labelled as such for easy identification to the pilot.

Made of aluminum, this handle is an EXTREMELY RARE  item.  Though it is in relic condition, it is VERY SOLID, with no cracks or damage!  There are some very minor surface scratches and a bit of corrosion (can easily be cleaned).  I have indicated it’s location in the last photo.  An EXCEPTIONALLY hard to find item this would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection, restoration project, or panel re-build!
