Description
Mounted on the main instrument panel, this clock needs no introduction. It was made famous throughout the war as the standard German Aircraft Cockpit Clock. It was usually mounted on the front or side cockpit consoles and features a chronometer, adjustable bezel, and a 15-minute timer.
Made of aluminum with a brass bezel, this 1st model Junghans clock is in EXCELLENT used condition. It retains 95% of it’s original paint (early RLM66), and features the press on back. The interesting feature is that the original finish on these were black…but this has a clear factory RLM66 over paint, as proven by the faint BAL stamp that is over top. Some light marks and scratches throughout from age, but nothing that take away from the overall appearance. The dial still glows at night (must be charged with UV light), and “Junghans” is prominent. Note that some of the glow-in-the-dark paint is missing from the numbers. 100% FUNCTIONAL, this is the RAREST and most sought-after variant! Would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection, panel re-build, or restoration project! |
