Description
You are bidding on an AMAZING relic example of a WW2 German Luftwaffe Gashebel (Throttle Lever), 109.769-01 H02 and Kraftstoffpumphebel (Fuel Pump Lever), 109.769-01 H04 as used ONLY in the Me109 F thru K German Fighter Aircraft! This SPECIFIC example was recovered from an Me109 G4 that was lost on the Eastern Front. I will provide all the loss information to the winning bidder.
These throttle handles were mounted on the main throttle assembly (Gashebel) on the port side of the cockpit, and featured a Drehzahl (Prop Pitch) switch on the main handle/knob. Though the Me109 was usually set for Auto Propeller Pitch, the pilot could manually change the pitch with his thumb, by adjusting the switch on the side of this unit.
Made of aluminum and steel, mid-war late-style throttle lever was manufactured between 1941 and 1943. Recovered directly from the wreck, it has some marks, scratched, damage, and bends as you can see in the photos, but otherwise VERY solid! Much of the original paint also remains, as well as the original wiring! One of the most ICONIC and easily recognizable items located in the cockpit, it is an EXTREMELY RARE item, and would make SUPERB item for any collection, display, or restoration project!
