Description
The FuG Antenna connected directly to the FuG16 Radio Sending Unit. This allowed for air-to-air communication, as well as air-to-ground. Made of wood, aluminum, and steel, this LATE-WAR style Antenna Mast is in AMAZING used condition! There are some very slight marks, however it is VERY solid, retaining 95% of it’s original camouflage paint! Paint consists of RLM76; LATE-WAR RLM76; and RLM82/83! There is a tiny bit of corrosion on the base, but this is normal due to the material. The hook that held the cable antenna is broken at the top…but this could be rectified by the winning bidder. It is mounted to piece of steel, which is from the same aircraft (appears to be a section of armour plating…or possibly the original modified mout). This type is EXCEEDINGLY RARE, and is the ONLY ONE I HAVE EVER SEEN! This is the LAST variant used, before they got rid of the antenna altogether in early 1945, and simply bolted the cable to the fuselage. The earlier all aluminum variant does come up every once in a while, but this LATE type…made of steel and wood…NEVER survived. Occasionally the steel bases show up in relic conation…but never the mast. Most likely from a late Me109 G10/G14 or early Me109K-4. Could EASILY be used again in an airworthy project, or leave as is for display purposes! I have shown the location in the Me109 G and K in the last photos. Would make a VERY RARE and FANTASTIC addition to any collection, display, or restoration project! Please email me if you need additional photos or information. ——————- PAYMENT —————– Payment should be made within 7 business days at the end of the auction unless buyer contacts me for other arrangements.
