Description
You are bidding on a FANTASTIC and 100% ORIGINAL BMW801 Factory Blueprint! This aircraft engine was heavily used in the famous Fw190 fighter and Ju88 Bomber aircraft. This document (along with the others I have on auction) came to me from a large collection in Germany, and are guaranteed as being wartime produced.
The BMW 801 was a powerful German air-cooled radial aircraft engine built by BMW and used in a number of German military aircraft of World War II. Production versions of the engine generated between 1,560 and 2,000 PS (1,540-1,970 hp, or 1,150-1,470 kW). It was the most produced radial engine of The 801 was originally intended to replace existing radial types in German transport and utility aircraft. At the time, it was widely agreed among European designers that an inline engine was a requirement for high performance designs due to its smaller frontal area and resulting lower drag. However, radial engines could endure more combat damage, so Kurt Tank fitted a BMW 801 to a new fighter design he was working on. As a result, the 801 became best known as the powerplant for the famous Focke-Wulf Fw 190.
It was also used on the Ju188, Ju388, Ju290, Me264, and Do217.
This is an AMAZING and EXTRAORDINARILY RARE reference for the BMW801 / Focke-Wulf Fw190 Fighter fan! Though it does feature some marks, wear and creases due to the age, this aircraft engine blueprint remains in EXCELLENT condition! This blueprint covers the Exhaust Pipe for Cylinders 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, and 13, and indicates:
9-801.850-810.11 Abgasrohr für Zyl. 1, 3, 5, 9, 11, 13
Single sided, it features an official ink stamp, dated September 1940. One of the rarest engine documents produced, it measures approx. 23″ x 33″ and would make a SUPERB addition to any collection or display!
