Made of wood and steel, this German K98 Bayonet is in EXCELLENT condition considering it’s age. Made in 1938 in Czechoslovakia by Waffenwerke Brunn, it was converted by the German military to fit the standard K98 rifle. There are some slight marks due to the age, but otherwise is in AMAZING used condition! The blade, though it does show very slight wear, remains unsharpened, with 95% original finish. The scabbard is original to this knife, but it does feature some marks and wear. The knife features dark wood grips, and is marked:
The scabbard is original to this knife, but is dated earlier. Condition matches that of the knife, with some minor marks and scratches due to the age.
The frog is manufactured in a Luftwaffe “brown”, and features a very prominent manufacture stamp on the reverse, along with a 1935 date. It is unit marked for a Luftwaffe Pilot Training School, and has an official LBA Stores stamp with a 1936 date. The cool feature is that is is NAMED, with a small, worn label on the reverse. The leather is a bit stiff with some cracking around where the frog stud slides through…but pretty solid otherwise. Would make a SUPERB addition to any collection or display!
