Description
In 1940, the German military developed topical unfiroms, consisting of pants, tunics, boots, and variousother equipment. The tropical footwear consisted of a both a lace-up tall boot, and lace-up low ankle boot/show. Both were made of a khaki/olive canvas and brown leather. Though similar to the Armt-issue items, the Luftwaffe had their own versions of the tropical equipment, which were developed independently from other banches of service.
The gaiters are original to this set (all items are an attic find from Germany), and appear to be a private purchase (period made). They are made of an almost identical canvas/linen construction, with various manufacture marks and notations. I TEXTBOOK set, this would make for a SUPERB addition to any collection or display! |
