Description
The AK39 Wrist Compass was designed for wear by pilots and crew for correctly calculating their position if forced to bail out or after a crash. Though it was designed to be worn on the wrist, it was commonly attached to various other pieces of equipment (zipper, straps, etc.). Made of brown bakelite, this compass is in VERY NICE used condition. 95% of the original finish remains, however there are some slight marks due to the age. Brought back by a an RAF veteran (probably from a captured pilot), it features 360 degree markings on the face, and it is still 100% functional. The bottom is clearly marked, “AK39”, and the Fl. label indicates Fl. 23235-1. 100% complete, it would make for a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!
