Description
This type of camera was used by the Luftwaffe in order to record FlaK Gunnery. It was also used for training purposes for MG-15 gunners in bombers. After the crew member fired a volley at various targets, it was later used so that the instructor could review the film and see any mistakes that may have been made, and then could be corrected upon.
Made of a aluminum and steel, this gun camera set is in EXCELLENT used condition. The entire set was manufactured by Siemens, and though it would normally have 3 cameras installed, it currently just has one. It does feature some scratches add slight corrosion, it retains MUCH of it’s original paint and finish! It still retains the correct wiring and plugs, and comes with all the accessories you see in the photos (including 13 Film Cassettes!). Three of the film cassettes still have film in them, but I am not sure if anything is recorded. Also has extra light mounts; mounting plates; bulbs; and numerous other extras!
It appears the RAF veteran who brought this back swapped out the original lens with a British type. I do have the correct German lens for this, which I will include (not currently shown in the listing).
I am not sure if this is functional, but I am sure any camera aficionado would be able to determine that. Missing a couple small parts here and there, but if you have another camera (or two), you could make this set 100% complete! The single camera and film cassettes are worth $1300+ by themselves, so I have set the price for this set accordingly. I have shown it in use in the last image. A PERFECT item for any collection or display!
Please note that this set is VERY heavy (65+ lbs.). The shipping quote listed is an ESTIMATE ONLY. I will provide an exact (depending on the winning buyer’s location) after the auction ends.
