Description
You are bidding on a SUPERB set of WW2 British RAF MK. VIII Pilot Flight Goggles! These were used by both fighter and bomber pilots throughout the war! The MK. VIII Goggles are arguably the mist iconic of all RAF goggles, coming into service in 1940, and remaining in use until the 1960s. Made of fabric, glass, brass, and steel, this is a FANTASTIC pair of goggles! Some slight marks and wear throughout, due to the age, but nothing that detracts. The brass frames retain approx. 98% original paint and finish, with NO breaks or damage! No damage to the face cushions, and they appear to be in UNISSUED condition! Has the RARE and SOUGHT-AFTER AM Ministry Stamp impressed into the leather above the bridge (many of these were not stamped), as well as an ink stamp on the back. Elastic strap retains much of the elasticity, but it has stiffened somewhat. Pullers are also present, which is rare. One of the NICEST pairs I have seen, it would make a SUPERB addition to any collectino or display!
