WW I / WW II German Heer Nahkampfmesser – COMBAT BOOT KNIFE / TRENCH KNIFE

 As bayonets were typically long and heavy, some soldiers ended up privately purchasing various styles of hunting knives.  Throughout WW2, numerous manufactures produced these types of knives, available for both private purchase and military issue.

Made of wood and steel, this late-war German Combat Fighting Knife is in EXCELLENT condition considering it’s age.  The blade does show some marks, stains, and wear…however the factory edge is still present!  The scabbard is original to this knife, but it does feature some marks and wear.  In addition, the bottom has broken off (see photo).  Scabbards come up by themselves quite a bit, so it should be an easy replacement, if one wishes.  No makers marks that I can see.  Would make a SUPERB addition to any collection or display!
